Pilot Round the Sun - Live at the Zebra Cocktail Lounge (2004)
Late-era Pilot goes out west to Bozeman, MT and blasts out eight songs to also remember them by. From 2002’s Skyline we have an atmospheric take of Mounting a Molehill, as well as two tracks from the then-brand new MetroSessions EP that surprisingly turns up on ebay from time to time.
The Pilot Round The Sun that played Live at the Zebra Cocktail Lounge this March 2004 evening was a far changed band, going full-on shoegaze mode from the gate with Touch Me With Light, and four other unreleased songs that showcase a new direction. Live at The Zebra Cocktail Lounge stands in admirably for the next Pilot CD that never was and is an important listen to appreciate the scope of the band many last heard from on Creep Records. This show was available for free on their website as of at least later that year when I downloaded it. Recorded March 18, 2004 by Chuck Goodwin |
